These UAVs will be based on a nationally created system called “Octopus” engineered to intercept Iranian-made drones. The system has been tested in actual battle and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones daily.

Recent Assault on the Capital Described as Calculated

Volodymyr Zelenskyy described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and brutal” following six individuals lost their lives and dozens injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Air raid sirens activated in Kyiv just after midnight on Friday, with enemy UAVs quickly detected overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukrainian air defences.

Zelenskyy stated the nation was hit by hundreds of UAVs and 18 missiles. The deceased were inside their residences in a block of flats on the capital's left bank during the strike. Numerous of additional structures were damaged, among them the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan.

Diplomatic Objection Following Embassy Destruction

Azerbaijan said it delivered a formal objection to Moscow's diplomatic representative on Friday following the embassy damage. There were no personnel injured, and an official representative confirmed the diplomatic mission in Ukraine was maintaining operations.

Military commanders in Kyiv said its military had launched Neptune cruise missiles and used various types of strike drones in the assault against Novorossiysk “within the framework of efforts to reduce the strategic capabilities of the invading force.”

Ukraine separately struck a processing plant in the Saratov area and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels overnight.

Global Sanctions Impact Moscow's Energy Company

The number two oil producer Lukoil said on Friday it is negotiating with potential buyers concerning its international holdings after last month’s restrictions from Western nations and the collapse of a deal with commodity trader Gunvor. “The specific deal will be announced once the final agreements are completed and required authorizations are secured,” the company stated.
