Cowboys Player Marshawn Kneeland Passes Away at 24 Years Old
He was the 56th overall pick in the 2024 draft
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland has died aged 24.
The Cowboys selected the Cowboys in the second round of the draft in 2024 and appeared in 18 games for the team, with four starting appearances.
He recorded his initial touchdown in Tuesday's defeat to the Arizona Cardinals when he recovered a blocked punt.
"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and part of our family," the Dallas Cowboys said.
"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his partner Catalina and his loved ones."
Kneeland was picked by the Cowboys with the 56th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft after playing college football for Western Michigan.
His representative, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart breaks" for the passing of a player who "poured his heart" into every moment.
"I saw him strive his way from a aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley said.
The NFL said it is "profoundly grieved" by the news.
